Photocast are becoming more and more established in its industry thanks to the projects that we have been commissioned for. Our latest project was an honour for Photocast as it was part of a celebration of Her Majesty’s 90th birthday celebrations. Photocast were part of the Canadian Commonwealth Walkway project with our creation of the braille and tactile signs and all of the bronze walkway markers, as who better to create these than the leading sign makers in Liverpool. The opening of the Canadian Commonwealth Walkway was on the 17th September 2017 where our work was unveiled to a gathering of guests.

Bronze plaques

The Canadian Commonwealth Walkway markers were made out of our bronze metal which featured the Queen’s personal cypher. This choice of metal was perfect for this project as it needed to represent Her Majesty, be durable for outdoors and age well. Bronze is a luxurious and elegant metal with many benefits and it can withstand all weathers, lasting for hundreds of years as it ages with grace. Our bronze plaques are perfect for outdoor projects but also work well indoors. Find out more about our bronze plaques here.

Braille and tactile signs

As well as bronze plaque markers we were also commissioned to create the braille and tactile signs which would feature the map of the walkway. Braille and tactile signs are used for those who are visually impaired and should be available at every public building and service provider. Braille characters are created using two columns and three dots which make up 256 unique combinations and is bilingual. Photocast are proud to make the Canadian Commonwealth Walkway accessible to everyone. Find out more about braille and tactile signs here.
