Etched zinc plaques produced for Fenwick Weavers Co-operative Heritage Trail
Produced work by Photocast
A heritage trail has been developed in Fenwick, near Kilmarnock by heritage development and design firm MGH Consultants.
Ben Smith of MGH Consultants commissioned Photocast to produce five AI deep etched custom plaques depicting his stunning designs.
The five etched zinc plaques, each of 300 x 200 mm now sit along the heritage trail, providing information on the historical route.
About our work for Fenwick Weavers Co-operative Heritage Trail
The Heritage Lottery Funded trail commemorates and connects nine key locations connected with the Fenwick Weavers’ Co-operative and other events and figures important to the radical heritage of the village, with the use of etched zinc plaques by Photocast.
These locations include churches, weavers cottages and the local library, where the co-operative’s values and principles were formalised in the mid 19th century.
Many of the sites are in conservation areas and are listed buildings, so the panels and etched zinc plaques required advert consent, which was attained by MGH Consultants with the help of experienced zinc plaque engraving company Photocast.
A leaflet and a web page – thefenwickweavers.coop/heritage-trail – now exist alongside the etched zinc plaques to inform and engage visitors to the historical site.
