Unlike pantograph engraving or shallow chemical etch into steel or brass the Photocast deep etch system allows etch depths only limited by the thickness of the substrate you choose. This process, together with detailed text and illustrations is the perfect solution for long-lasting quality historical interpretation panels.
The maximum individual plate size is 980 x 580mm but we can accommodate larger panel sizes by 'tiling' a number of plates together on a blackboard.
A wide range of British Standard Colours or RAL Specification numbers are available.

Durable and eye-catching, bronze is the ideal medium for the production of permanent floor plaques. Photocast‘s pattern-making expertise combined with traditional casting methods creates a long-lasting product of the very highest quality.
Our photo etching expertise allows us to etch deeply enough to use the "zinc" as a pattern for casting in bronze. With good design and reference material we can add a third dimension to any shape and our in-house sculptor can produce a likeness that will commemorate your own "favourite son". Less costly than you might think and there forever.

Artwork for plaques is usually produced using line illustrations and text. The Photocast etching system though, allows the use of photographic images, producing a memorable likeness and a truly unique and interesting product.
Using image manipulation techniques we can provide you with the look you require. 3-D modelling techniques however take things into quite another dimension.

Complex heraldic crests, coats of arms and company logos that last, can sometimes prove difficult and expensive to reproduce.
The use of good linework of the appropriate weight and careful enamelling produces excellent results. By subtly controlling our photo-etching system we are able to vary the depth of "cut" into the "zinc" which can then be used as a pattern for casting in bronze. The addition of other layers or moulding can produce a greater 3-D effect, at a realistic cost.

The Disability Discrimination Act states that the physical changes and adjustments, to buildings that allow access and information, should have been made to all buildings by 2004. The Joint Mobility Unit, together with the RNIB, recommend that all public buildings and service providers, including hotels, public transport and municipal buildings should use braille and tactile signage for all projects.
Photocast can provide advice, an artwork service and the production of quality braille and tactile signage.
